2016 was an amazing year for the watch world, filled with innovative introductions and updates to well-known classics. To prepare for what is sure to be another year of groundbreaking timepiece debuts, we decided to take a look at which pieces were our most popular this past year, and the results were quite interesting. The watches that our clients loved were a unique combination of timeless classics and newly introduced designs, providing a great jumping point for anyone just starting their collection, or looking to build in the new year.

Breitling Avenger Hurricane
A new introduction from Breitling in 2016, the Avenger Hurricane is a big (50mm) and bold watch built to withstand whatever you put it through. It was also the debut of their Breitlight material which made the case tough while remaining light, a big selling point for the adventurous clients who bought this watch.
Cartier Tank Solo
The Cartier Tank has always been a staple in the watch lover’s wardrobe, and this year proved no different. We particularly saw an increase in the smaller version, showing that women are increasingly getting in the fine timepiece game, and the Cartier Tank Solo is the perfect way to start.
Tag Heuer Connected Watch
We were fortunate to be one of the few locations to sell the TAG Connected from the beginning, and they quickly sold out. TAG Heuer successfully combined the appreciation for a fine timepiece with the latest technology, for a super compatible smart watch that actually looked like a watch.
Shinola 41MM Runwell Green Dial
Shinola has seen steady growth since their start a few years ago and with new collections and styles constantly being released, we see no sign of them slowing down. A great watch at a great price point, the Runwell collection has proven to be a solid choice for a classic all-around watch. The green face on this one in particular aims to be showier and more casual, perfect for the guy who’s not afraid of a little color.
Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona with Black Bezel
Whether you are a race car fanatic or not, the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is a sharp multi-functional watch that has been a favorite for the Rolex lover since its creation. Our client’s favorite model in particular showcase a black dial and bezel that not only stand out against the stainless steel Oyster bracelet, but also make the dial easier to read.
Calibre de Cartier Diver Blue
We loved this watch over the summer and our clients agreed. Perfect for a day at the beach followed by a night on the town, the Calibre de Cartier Diver provides the perfect merger of fashion and function with water resistance up to 300 meters, a manufacture self-winding mechanical movement, and a bold design in striking blue. This is an amazing watch for all you water lovers, just be ready for tons of complements and jealous stares.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Black
The introduction of the Black Bay Black was already big news, but in late 2016 Tudor one-upped this announcement with the release of the Black Bay collection updated with their in-house manufacture movement. The Black Bay has been a favorite among collectors and the introduction of the in-house movement only made it more popular. It continues to draw attention and get rave reviews from professionals and watch lovers alike. We Can’t wait to see what Tudor has in store for 2017.
